This Blog is not Dying!

This blog is not going to die. And I've talked to both Zowie and Fifi today and you girls have promised more updates are on the way. I know where you both live.

Btw, HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIERRA!!!!!!!

Just got back from the city after having Shanghai soup dumplings in C-town. Joe's Shanghai on Pell St. Only because Shanghai Cafe was closed. Oh Shanghai Cafe.... why??? Your website says you close at 10:30 not 9:30!

Work has been hectic -- we have a huge conference this Friday and I've been putting in extra hours. Shit is cuh-razzzzyyy.

I also get to boss other interns around. Sweeeet. Today I made one of them carry 3 heavy boxes full of Climate Initiative reports down to the basement. Steve Chu is worried about his confirmation as Energy Secretary and persuaded us to delay our launch of our climate initiative until after his hearings. This was quite a ------- as we had to cancel our press conferences in Beijing and also in DC. Feinstein who is also on our climate task force is Chair of the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies for Obama is also freaking out and so I suppose its just as well.

I've also been given the task of being head coordinator of an event that the Asia Society is holding on January 29th. Its a film screening of My Beijing Birthday followed by a discussion with the filmmaker, Howie Snyder.

You can watch the trailer here: http://mybeijingbirthday.com/index1.php#trailer

James Fallows mentioned the film in his blog last year: http://jamesfallows.theatlantic.com/archives/2008/10/my_beijing_birthday_now_in_bei.php

I am freaking out. Not only do I need fill the auditorium with audience members (250 people) I'm in charge of publicity, communicating with the director, A/V, set-up/take-down, box office logistics etc. The pressure is on.

Been also studying for the GREs. Paid $140 to register for my test in May (sob!). Study session with Andrea tomorrow.

Weather= cold as shit

I can't wait to go back to California. I'll be there Feb 12-17th!
