It all began with a series of uncanny events pertaining to Ben and his journey home from work. On the BART, he spotted a fellow he had played "eye games" with once before. They rode next to one another all the way to Rockridge, both to shy to make a move. Frustrated by the missed opportunity, Ben scanned the Craig's List "missed opportunities" (Puma and Yolanda have experience with that...) and low and behold, there was a post from Ben's mystery man lamenting the lack of communication on the BART ride. In response, Ben crafted a witty email informing him that he would be at the White Horse and will be looking for him...
So off we went!
Th e White Horse is located on Telegraph slightly past the Whole Foods. Being the very first gat bar in the Bay, it's really quite a historic place. The scene was uncharacteristically quiet and straight (lucky for me). Ben and I redeemed our free drink tickets complements of flashing a school ID and played a few games of pool. From there, it was to the dance floor for me. I mingled my ways through the lesbian, gay, and straight couples and eventually found myself a dancing partner to preoccupy my time.

With my blueberry stoli + 7up in hand, Ben and I transitioned to the smoking room. We met quite an interesting cast of characters including Murphy the male housewife, Lina the Swedish Lesbian, and the best friend of Lina's baby daddy.

We ended the evening without Ben's mystery man but it didn't really matter -- we had a grand 'ol time.

Ohh the white horse. Good to know. I did not know that there was a gay bar on Telegraph and one that has dancing! Sounds like a pleasant surprise outing!
